Recycling Hair

It is said that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.  As I was dragging all those old bags of mohair out of the barn, I didn’t think of it as “trash”, but it was something I didn’t think I would use, and fortunately, I found a couple of artisans that could use it.

The photo shows, Hugh and Kathy, who make the felt creations at Forestfelters  http://www.forestfelters.com inspecting their “treasure” as they pack their Subaru to the brim with bags of mohair.

Having just returned from a 2 month trip, they had to walk for an half an hour on the snow, down their 1 km long unplowed driveway before making the 1 hour drive to McBride to pick it up.  It was fun to note their expression as they climbed into their mohair laden car, and took the first breath of the mohair laden air inside.

I will be looking forward to trying to spot the mohair in their felt works of art.
