I seem to have an affinity to Rhubarb and Hosta leaves.  This is my third painting of rhubarb.  What attracted me to this image was the translucent quality of the light shining through the funnel shaped leaf and that was what I was trying to recreate.  I also liked the dynamic way the edges of the leaves dance across the lower part of the canvas.  I am drawn to the organic vein-like structures of the stems spreading through leaves.  I strive to give my paintings a three dimensional feel.  It is the third painting I have done of rhubarb.
